I just checked in at 10:17 pm est and do not see Skylar! About 30 minutes ago Petra was on the nest with her nad they were eating. Then there were some camera adjustments being done and I got a blue screen. Came back to check and the nest is empty! My heart is pounding. Hope all went well. Thought she’d do it in the morning so as to have all day to figure things out.

Please post if you saw her. Did she fall or did she intend to do that. It appeared that the nest gave way and she fell. What do you think?

Did she go? Is she there? I can’t see her! I agree, I need my life back. I left for a few hours and the first thing when I get home is run to the computer to see if she is still there. I don’t see her…. 7:30 p.m. Oregon time.

It looked to me like the lower nest gave away as she went down but she spread her wings and I believe she flew,

Skylar is flying!!!! I have big giant tears streaming down my cheeks. We were here to watch and she actually flew! We have no camera on this but she was so strong and so powerful. She flew! Mom and her had a little talk right before. Anyone see that? Then Mom flew off and shortly thereafter Skylar went down the nest and it gave way a bit and she said…OK, I guess I’m an eagle!!! Skylar is flying. We’ll keep watch and keep you posted! Thanks for watching.
I can’t believe this is over yet so keep posting what you are thinking…isn’t this great? I feel like a proud mamma!

Yes, I saw her and agree with Bob and Pearl over there in Arkansas. She stumbled down the upper ledge and could not seem to regain balance .When she got to the lower ledge she still appeared to be awkward and then her right foot went thru the nest and off she went! She did have her wings spread so hopefully she had watched Mamma enough to know what to do. Amazing viewing!

Thank you Janet, I saw her lift her wings so I was sure she would make it but I am so glad you actually saw her flying. What a relief, I have been bouncing back and forth to this computer all day, never shut it off, but never really thought i would be looking when she took off, it was so amazing, the whole experience. Thank you

Well Joni wrote that she saw Skylar leave…so hope it was via flight! What a venture this has been! Who ever thought we could get so wrapped up, anxious and worried about baby eagles?? I know I will certainly miss seeing them. When I saw she was gone, I went out back hoping to see her flying…I wondered if I called out “Skylar” if she might come down and land on my finger! Maybe Forrest and Janet might have those final minutes before flight on film! She was sure working up to it all day today!! Thank you again Wolftree for this wonderful experience!! Maybe they will do a fly by this weekend for your big event! I will certainly check back to see what comments might be shared and if any further photos might be posted!
Thank you again so very much!!

Thanks everyone who posted!! I am so excited to know that she flew. That is what we have been waiting and watching for all this time. I did see she and her Mom having a chat. I stepped away and missed when Mom left, but it had only been a few minutes when I sat back down to watch Skylar. She was just bouncing and jumping and did have her wings spread a little. I am so happy to know that she made it. Thanks everyone!!!!!

Thanks folks for trying to help me get picture; I got comments, canyon picture and black square. Then I decided to try my camera; LOL, got mostly blur when I snapped the wingspan. Did anyone get a good one?

I missed the “flight” but by all the accounts I am reading, it was a beautiful sight. Fortunately, my friend Donna was watching at the exact moment and when I see her at work today I’m making sure she relays every little detail. My heart is filled with joy knowing Skylar is safe. I also have tears in my eyes. This has been such a fantastic experience. Thank you so very much. I feel like celebrating but have not figured out how just yet!

I sure miss her already! I’m glad you guys saw her fly, I was wondering if she flew because she sort of fell off, the nest sort of broke off at the bottom and off she went, with her wings spread open. I’m so glad she flew.

No sign of our Skylar today…I have not been home all day though. She is probably still in the area. We are kind of lost in the evening because much of our time was spent watching her. Ahh so. We will be celebrating on this Saturday night with a hundren or so folks at the Concert on the Canyon.
Can’t say enuf how grateful we are that we got to share this time with you all.Hope to some day meet each one of you. Stay tuned for updates…we will post it immediately when we see her. Take care
